Lignano Sabbiadoro can boast of a concentration of tourist ports with no equal anywhere on the Adriatic and even in the Mediterranean for variety, location and facilities.
Darsena Porto Vecchio, the first historic port in this Friuli tourist resort, started life as a natural shelter and fishing port and developed over the years into a fixed structure and facilities. It is now a modern tourist port and remains the most lively and picturesque with its landing stage for the regular ferryboat, its fleet of fishing boats, the beach delegation of the Harbour Master's Office, the headquarters of the Y.C.L and the local fish market.
West of the old port is the marina for the small boats of the resident population with their characteristic fishermen's houses where you can try traditional fish dishes, while to the east, at the tip of the peninsula, is the imposing and multi-layered Terra Mare building complex with the large tourist Marina Punta Faro port complete with facilities and sporting clubs with its columns, copies of those of nearby Aquileia which are mirrored in its large swimming pool.
There are two other ports at Riviera on the Tagliamento river: Marina Uno, the first exclusively tourist port to be built in Italy, with its hotels, restaurants and residences which has always hosted the world inshore motorboat championships in its waters.
Further up the river, Marina Punta Verde is an absolute gem complete with facilities set into the natural environment and sheltered by the large Parco Zoo.
