The blue flag is synonymous with a protected environment and recognises Bibione's clear and pristine seas for a totally safe swim.
The resort has been awarded the Blue Flag every year since 1996 for the good quality of its waters and coast, its satisfactory facilities and environmental awareness programmes.
In 2007 Bibione was awarded the first Premio Mare by A.R.P.A.V. (Veneto Region Agency for Environmental Prevention and Protection) whose objective is to recognise the best seaside resorts in the Veneto region on the basis of scientific analysis.
Bibione has developed in an absolutely unique natural environment: still uncontaminated waters and pine forests, a vast expanse of fine, golden sand.
The pine forest is a unique natural resource close to the river Tagliamento estuary, Val Grande and in Vallesina. It is a dense, verdant natural oasis populated by a wealth of birds and animals which have chosen it as their habitat and can be observed from specially built birdwatching towers.
The vegetation is intricate and wild, untouched by man to the extent that both its fauna and typical Mediterranean area flora is today adequately protected.
