San Donà di Piave is situated in the eastern part of the Venice province, astride the river Piave.
Facing the left bank of the river, since its origin, San Donà has stood out as an important trading junction.
Thanks to the effective geographical position as well as to its continuous and lively urban development, today San Donà is considered to be the capital of the homonymous district, better known as “Basso Piave” (Lower Piave).

The town, through a modern and functional development scheme of wide roads, squares and green areas, is able to provide all public and private facilities needed to meet every citizen’s requirements. It can boast a commercial network of primary importance, an active and lively artisan sector and a very important industrial component, whilst the extraordinary fertility of its countryside together with highly mechanized agricultural management renders flourishing rural activities. The present reality has recent origins, due not to it being a newly founded town, but to its adversity-strewn past which has often challenged its survival.
