The `Blue Flag´ means environmental protection and guarantees a clear and clean sea for Bibione where swimming is safe for everybody. Since 1996 the seaside resort has been every year the holder of the Blue Flag for the high quality of its water and coast, the adequate services offered to its tourists and the promotion of environmental education.
In 2007 Bibione was awarded the first edition of the prize “Premio Mare” founded by A.r.p.a.v. (Regional Organisation for environmental prevention and protection of the Veneto) assigning, under scientific control, a recognition to one of the best seaside resorts of the region Veneto.

La Pineta
Bibione is surrounded by a unique landscape in terms of watercourses and pine groves which are still intact and a large beach of fine golden sand.
The pinewood is a natural resource close to the mouth of the river Tagliamento and in the middle of the valleys Val Grande and Vallesina. It is a luxuriant oasis of nature populated by a great variety of birds and other animal species that have found their natural habitat in this area, an ideal place for bird watching. Therefore the typical Mediterranean flora and fauna are carefully protected and the vegetation has never been changed by man in the course of time.
